When installing the pump, it is a good
idea to mark the line on top for reference. The switch in the
dash will have to be changed to a GM 15599081. The switching
harness (from switch to switching valve) is GM 12053117. You
will have to use an after market switching valve due to the
high pressure of the EP 241 fuel pump (65 P.S.I) The factory
switching valve is TBI only and rated for only 20 lbs P.S.I.
These parts can be
purchased from GM, S&P or in salvage
yards on ‘87 up chevy trucks.

Jim wants to keep the dual tanks that
came with the truck so it is neccesary to install a AC Delco
EP 241 electric fuel pump into each tank.
The
driver side tank used a GM 25090846
sending unit and the passenger side uses a GM 25090837. When
installing the pump into the tank, be sure to use high pressure
fuel hose and stainless steel clamps. The sending unit seals
with a twist lock
O-ring which should be lubricated when
installed.

Since the Camaro engine comes with a
single fuel line and the regulator is in the tank, we choose to
use a ‘97-’98 vette (dual line) fuel rail and
regulator. All ‘99 and later truck engines (4.8-5.3-8.1)
are dual line fuel systems.
The dual line rail has a inlet and return
line that will keep cool fuel at the top of the engine. The
regulator located on the fuel rail will give us better throttle
response and is better suited for a dual tank system.

Right shows a 4” PVC elbow being
used to relocate the mass air flow and K&N RU-3130 air
filter. A hole was drilled into the top of the elbow to accept
the air temp sensor. A factory throttle cable was used and
attached to the exsisting petal linkage. ALWAYS BE SURE TO CHECK THE THROTTLE SYSTEM FOR BINDING
BEFORE OPERATING THE ENGINE.

S&P can reprogram your LS-1 computer on
a exchange basis. We can change you gear ratio and tire
diameter as well as removing the anti theft. Emissions on
1974 & earlier vehicles can be removed
and the engine will still run clean.
We must know year, tire
diameter, gear ratio and
transmission type.
