Heat riser tube port. All aluminum head Vettes had a heat riser tube from the exhaust header to this port. If you choose to not run emissions, you should use the S&P block off plate as well as the S&P EGR block off plate.
The steam line was used on aluminum head Vette engines to let water flow from the back of the heads to prevent hot spots from forming in the back of the heads. If you use this line, you will have to tie into the engine coolant system.

On custom chips please specify cubic inches, cam specs, injector #’s, type of transmission, rear gears, tire diameter, and type of vehicle and cam must have a
minimum of 12 1/2 -13 inches of vacuum.
S&P has a ultrasound injector cleaning machine with a flow meter to check and match each injector.
Use a infrared heat gun to check each header tube, they should all be within 40 degrees of each other.

Shown here using the pigtail and your digital volt meter, turn the key on, loosen the screws on the side of the TPS and rotate the TPS until the volt meter shows .54 volts dc , and 4.5 to 5.0 volts dc with the throttle wide open. All of these settings are done with the key on, but the engine is not running. S&P provides instructional videos on preforming this installations and more on tunedports.

Cobry unplugs the E.S.T bypass to set the base timing. Start by setting the timing to 6 to 8 degrees before top dead center. Turn the engine off and plug the bypass back together.Restart the engine and the timing should now show to be between 16 and 22 degrees.

If you have access to a scanner, you can use it to set the timing and the TPS. Using a scanner is much easier than using the volt meter and timing light, just use VIN number 1G2FS2389NL20001 or any VIN number for a 92 Trans-Am with a 305 or 350 engine. In Cobry’s installation he check his engine with a scanner and found that his engine only had 12 1/2 to 13 inches of vacuum. Turns out that his grand father had changed the stock cam when he had the engine rebuilt years before, so  he had Street & Performance reprogram his chip so that the engine would have a 14 to 7 fuel ratio for the bigger cam with only 13 inches of vacuum. With the engine together and everything tuned in,  it’s now time to take the truck to Mena oil and tire for the exhaust system. Once the exhaust pipes have been fitted we will bring the truck back to S&P to have the pipes coated inside and out with Chromex.

Shown is a new chromed TPI vortec intake manifold with new injectors and rear exit fuel rail kit. Note that for non-emission use that the EGR has been blocked off and the heat riser tube is on rear passenger side of intake.
You can send your unit in to have it refurbished, polished or chromed. S&P will check or replace as needed any sensors. Also will clean and match the injectors, install new performance screens and
